Drought. Famine. Terror. Food Shortages. Changes in seasons. Increasing of storms and bad weather. Lack of fresh water… The makings of a science fiction novel or the future of the earth?
According to the most recent report (dubbed “apocalyptic” by numerous writers) by Sir Nicholas Stern, a chief economist at the World Bank, the world is headed on a disastrous course concerning the effects of global warming. The recently released 700-page scientific study confirms global warming and its disastrous, far-reaching effects.
An article published 31 October 2006 in The Independent UK, by Colin Brown and Rupert Cornwell, entitled “The Day that Changed the Climate," reads:
“Climate change has been made the world's biggest priority, with the publication of a stark report showing that the planet faces catastrophe unless urgent measures are taken to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Future generations may come to regard the apocalyptic report by Sir Nicholas Stern, a former chief economist at the World Bank, as the turning point in combating global warming, or as the missed opportunity…”
That is assuming there are future generations. What if there are factors at work that are "unknown" by the scientists? Please read this report. Acquiring all the gardening knowledge in the world won’t help in the long run (although it is a vital survival skill) if we destroy the balance of the universe through callous selfishness and greed.
I highly recommend to every reader of this blog that you learn gardening and survival skills. Teach them to everyone you possibly can.
