I found you two free gardening gifts! A planting calendar and a garden plan. What could be better than FREE gardening gifts? A gardening tip or two...

I found two nice free gardening gifts in my online travels that I would like to share with you. One gardening gift is a free garden plan and the other gardening gift is a free planting calendar. Both are courtesy of a name you know and trust, Better Homes and GardensĀ®.

Click here to download your free kitchen garden plan courtesy of Better Homes and GardensĀ®.

This kitchen garden plan features a semiformal vegetable garden with "warm- and cool-season crops, decorative annuals, evergreen shrubs, and rustic decorative elements. It measures 30 x 30 feet, which includes four 13-x-13-foot beds. The garden requires full sun and is recommended for all USDA Zones."

They also have a free downloadable vegetable planting calendar.

Vegetable Gardening Tip for today

If space is limited in your vegetable garden, you might try the French method of mixing seeds. (My mother didn't know it was a French method when she always mixed her rape, kale and spinach seeds!) As another example, you might mix spinach and carrot seed together. When the spinach stops growing, the carrots will grow. You can also mix radishes and lettuce.

If space is severely limited, look into my articles on hydroponic gardening, container gardening, and raised bed gardening!
